Are you looking for a way to become involved in the Fredericksburg community and have a special interest in helping children? Searching for opportunities to volunteer? Interested in meeting others who share the same passion for their community? Well, we’re looking for you, too! The Fredericksburg Area Service League welcomes women of all races, denominations and beliefs.

Service League members assist the community through a variety of volunteer opportunities. Members may work in community organizations, serve on League committees, help with fundraisers, etc. We offer volunteer opportunities to fit your schedule, whether you are in the workplace, a stay-at-home mom, or a college student.

As a member of the Fredericksburg Area Service League, you can
- help area children through organized and effective methods;
- build relationships with a diverse group of women leaders;
- increase your understanding of needs in the greater Fredericksburg area;
- develop your volunteer skills and leadership potential;
- share your talents and friendship with a network of interesting women;
- interact with community agencies and community leaders.

The Fredericksburg Area Service League accepts new members each Fall. If you are interested in joining, please review the process below and contact Marla Aste at gmaste@verizon.net.

1. Attend a Prospective Member Social or ask to attend one of our monthly meetings.
We’d love the opportunity to tell you about our activities and introduce you to our members.

2. Complete a membership application.
Print out and complete the FASL Membership Application and return it to us by August 1 to be included in the Provisional Class starting at the end of August. Payment of $80 ($20 application fee and $60 annual membership dues) should be made to Fredericksburg Area Service League or FASL and accompany your application.

3. Complete the provisional training program.
We believe a trained volunteer is an effective volunteer. Therefore, all prospective Service League members are required to complete our provisional training program, to become familiar with Service League, what it does, and how it works. Provisional training typically kicks off in late August and runs through April.

We also welcome members of Junior League as transfer members.
